Sonographers in Oregon earn some of the highest wages in their profession, according to the BLS. As of May 2009, the annual mean wage for diagnostic medical sonographers in Oregon was $78,320. Annual mean wages for major metropolitan areas in the state broke down as follows:
- Bend: $77,590
- Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton: $81,520
- Salem: $78,590
The annual mean wage for sonographers in the eastern Oregon non-metropolitan area was $66,060.
